Markus Frede is a german artist that applied to our MySpace artist call. His work can be seen as following the tradition of Action Painting. Paint is applied spontaneously to the canvas using bright and bold colors. More essential in art is the act of creation itself rather than the finally finished product. 

He is not intending and has not perfected his skills to portrait objects or people per se but would like to touch the observer deep in the subconscious mind. During the act of painting the artist will let his creative impulses run free and all his feelings, thoughts and sentiments, in fact his entire consciousness flow into his artwork. This impression of powerful emotion and action is created by painting spontaneously and unconsciously without a detailed concept of the finished product in mind. 

Markus Frede’s work consists of bright and bold colors, that affect the observer in a refreshing and electrifying way and emanates intense energy.

From a practical point of view, I must admit that I cannot paint well. Its´s also not my aim, by using techniques mastered and honed skills, to create artistic masterpieces. I paint because this creates in me a feeling of freedom which I cannot begin to describe whith words. I let my creative impulses run free and thus all my feelings, thoughts and sentiments, in fact my whole consciousness flow into my pictures. I do not think about how the finished picture will look. I am more like a child, coming to terms with its environment, simply by painting pictures. I regard my soul as the model for my paintings, their variets never fail to please me anew.
